Liberal Muslim
I’ve had it with people who insist on comparing ones political point of view with his religion.
Check you’re facebook account you will see TWO fields one for Religious Views and the other for the Political Views.
I see a lot of statuses updates making fun of people who call them selves Liberal Muslim. I understand that Islam is based on liberty and everyone is allowed to choose their own religion without being forced. But, what does that has to do with my political views.. why I’m considered a less believer because i’m supporting liberal views? wouldn’t it better you stop sheiks / Islamist whe made people resort to these western definitions ? when Islamist allow people like that so called “shiekh” go live on media stating that democracy is atheism! or when MBH give their leader divine powers, his words cannot be discussed as if he speaks by the name of the religion itself. Which is against the Islamic rules and sharia. Don’t you think that those people are the ones worthy of being stopped and confronted instead of making fun of people who are looking for the liberty that the Islam itself spoke of? Naturally people search for their freedom and it’s their right to fight for it as long as it follows the society’s habits and traditions.
And since those groups / sheiks are interfering with politics and not separating politics from religion, and again since most of the moderate Muslims agrees that what that certain shiek said is entirely wrong. does this make the religion wrong? Well, it absolutely does not! but, it sure turn people away from the religion’s political opinions… which is again WRONG. but you can’t blame people for starting to look for other methods that they think will ensure their rights, liberty and freedom.
My point is before judging Liberal Muslim for choosing liberality as their political views you should judge those who speak by the name of the religion making it look bad and force people to resort to newly invented names like democracy or Liberality. Not everyone is a sheik and a lot of us will be negatively affected when we listen to people like “El Shahat”.
Yet no one, not a single Muslim Shiekh stood up in his face and told him that he is driving people away from Islam and that he is distorting it. To not stand in the face of people like that person is exactly like agreeing with him. And if the Islamist thinkers did not disapprove speeches like the one he made, then by all means do not judge people for trying to find their way to liberty.
I just want to say that, although Islam is based on Liberality, choosing a liberal point of view doesn’t make us less believers. As long as this liberty respect the Islam laws and rules. Which is already the case in our beloved country Egypt.
